Cyprus govt calls on Church of Cyprus to take similar measures as Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece

 

The Cypriot government is expected to call on the Church of Cyprus to follow a decision last week by the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece regarding services and liturgies for Easter Holy Week.
According to reports, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will propose to the Archbishop of Cyprus, His Eminence Chrysostomos, that the Resurrection be publicly celebrated on the Feast Day of the Apodosis of Pascha, as the Church of Greece announced.

At present, all services on Cyprus are held in cathedrals and chapels without the presence of worshipers.
