Patriarchate of Jerusalem: The Commemoration of Joachim and Anna, the Holy Ancestors of God

On Tuesday, September 9/22, 2020, on the commemoration of the Theotokos parents, Joachim and Anna, the Holy and Righteous Ancestors of God, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at their Holy Monastery, which is at the place where their house used to be, next to the Sheep’s Pool, according to the testimony of St. John Damascene, and by St. Stephen’s gate inside the Wall of the Old City of Jerusalem.
The Divine Liturgy was officiated by the also celebrating, Most Reverend Metropolitan Joachim of Helenoupolis, with the hospitality of the Hegoumen Archimandrite Meletios.
