Ancient Greek webinars for beginners to begin late this month

The Evgenios Voulgaris Academy of the St. Maximos the Greek Institute, operating under the blessing of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, will begin offering a four-grade webinar course program in ancient Greek, beginning later this month.

The first course is designed for absolute beginners, aged 14 years and older. Students will be introduced to the foundations of ancient Greek, including the alphabet, the morphology of the language, grammar and syntax, and will develop basic reading skills in Greek.

The inaugural course commences on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 and continues until Jan. 12, 2023, for a total of 36 hours. The instructor will be Prof. Ioannis Petropoulos. The scheduled webinar time is 19.00 to 21.00 Athens time, or 17.00 to 19.00 GMT.
